Rescue.
Rehabilitation.
Refuge.

Mulberry Acres Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit located in Brighton, Michigan. Our mission is to provide rehabilitation, sanctuary, and thoughtful adoptions for companion parrots in need.

What Makes Mulberry Acres Different

We are deeply intentional about where each bird truly belongs.

Special-Needs Flock
Parrots who require continued medical care, rehabilitation, or specialized support remain with us as part of our special-needs flock.

Companion Birds
Birds who thrive in close human relationships are carefully matched with adopters who understand their unique personalities and lifelong needs.

Sanctuary Flock
Healthy birds who prefer the company of other parrots are thoughtfully integrated into social, flight-focused aviaries where they can rediscover how to be wild birds again.

Our Education Ambassadors

Some birds at Mulberry Acres choose to help us teach. Our education ambassadors support outreach and learning, helping visitors understand enrichment, body language, and compassionate care.

Behind the Scenes

At Mulberry Acres Rescue, transparency and education go hand in hand. We use social media to share our flock’s journey while helping others learn about compassionate parrot husbandry, behavior, and enrichment.

“May my heart always be open to little birds who are the secrets of living.”  ~ e. e. cummings
