Florence Bird
Blue Quaker ~ female ~ age unknown
Florence Bird is a beautiful Quaker Parrot who is brave, a great flier, and will give kisses to the right people. She loves to hang out on a shoulder and have her pin feathers preened. Although if she isn't in the mood, she might give your finger a pinch.
FLORENCE'S STORY: We really don't know anything about Florence's past. She was found in someone's backyard here in Michigan. After an owner could not be found, she was brought to us at the sanctuary. We quickly fell in love with Florence's silly and sweet personality, and Florence quickly fell in love with Simon, our Flock Ambassador. She is happiest by his side, but she will settle for a human from time to time.

FAVORITE ACTIVITY: Hanging out with Simon, the white-bellied Caique, being sassy and silly, and giving the humans a good morning kiss

FAVORITE FOOD: Gomphrena Flowers

FAVORITE FLOCK MEMBER: Simon

It is illegal to own a Quaker parrot in some U.S. States because some wild populations have become invasive. They have an ability to mimic some human speech and sounds. Quakers tend to be surrendered or released into the wild because of aggression issues.
