📝 Gojo's Story: Gojo and his buddy, Nimbus, came from a home in Indiana where they were severely neglected. Their feathers were shredded, their cages were filthy, and their diets were abysmal. Their owner tried to surrender them to Pet Smart, where a vet tech took them in, and they eventually made their way to our volunteer, Claudia, who brought them to the sanctuary. Nimbus is doing better, has settled in, and is enjoying affection from our staff, but Gojo is still scared and standoffish. We are working with him day by day, starting on target training to get him used to taking treats from our hands. Gojo's feathers have improved, and he's made a few friends in our Conure Canopy Room.
✨ Temperament: Shy and timid
🎶 Talks/Sings?: Gojo makes the typical conure screech, and he mumbles here and there.
🥜 Favorite Treats: Safflower seeds and millet
💡 Best Fit: Gojo will need an experienced bird owner who isn't afraid of the occasional bite. He can be fearful of hands and fingers with certain people. It would also be great if Nimbus could be adopted with Gojo.
🐦 Can Live with Other Birds?: Gojo is good with other birds, but has shown signs of being overly territorial.
📢 Noise Level: Loud
🥦 Diet: Harrison's Fine pellets, Bird Street Bistro cooked mix, vegetables finely chopped, and seeds sparingly
🏠 Cage & Play Area Needs: Medium sized cage with close bars for small birds. He should be let out daily to fly.
🩺 Health Notes: No known health issues, has been vetted
