Kai

🦜 Species: Black-Capped Caique

🎂 Age: 3

👫 Sex: M

📏 Size: medium

📝 Kai's Story: Kai came from a pet store in Florida. His previous owner said he was very affectionate and wonderful...until they got a second bird. Kai became possessive over the other bird and aggressive toward his owners. This is common with hormonal behavior. Now that Kai and the other bird have been separated, we are hoping Kai will get back to his old, affectionate self.

Temperament: Kai is entertaining and silly. He loves to dance and loves music. He was a bit aggressive when he first came to the rescue, but once springtime hormone season passes, we think he will be a great bird.

🎶 Talks/Sings?: Kai can talk! He says, "hello," "what are you doing," "good boy," "I’m a good boy."

🥜 Favorite Treats: Kai enjoys foraging toys and nuts of all kinds.

💡 Best Fit: Kai needs an experienced bird owner who isn't afraid of the occasional bite. Someone who will work with him to have manners.

🐦 Can Live with Other Birds?: Kai needs to be in an only-bird home.

📢 Noise Level: Caiques are very loud and Kai is no exception. It's like having a car alarm going off in your house without a remote to turn it off. An ideal owner will need to be OK with loud environments.

🐦 Best Quirk: Kai has the most adorable dance moves!

🥦 Diet: Hagen Tropican Large Lifetime Pellets, Bird Street Bistro cooked food, fresh veggies, fruits, nuts.

🏠 Cage & Play Area Needs: Kai will need a medium-sized enclosure and time outside of the cage daily to fly and climb.

🩺 Health Notes: No health concerns
